Artist Info:
Claude Tousignant is a Montreal-based Canadian artist and an important contributor to the development of geometric abstraction in Canada. Tousignant is considered a member of the Montreal modern art movement called "les Plasticiens" known for the belief that painting should be pure form and colour, and that meaning and spontaneous expression should be avoided. An Officer of the Order of Canada and a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, Tousignant received the Governor General's Award in Visual Arts and Media in 2010.
