Joyce Wieland was a Canadian experimental filmmaker and mixed media artist based in Toronto. In 1982, Wieland received the honour of the Order of Canada and in 1987, she was awarded the Toronto Arts Foundation's Visual Arts Award. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
Images from the Clara Thomas Archives & Special Collections were featured in a 2022 CBC Radio story on Wieland, "O Canada and beaver perfume: Joyce Wieland's art still helps us understand our national identity."
