While the Bronfman Library works to support teaching and research through workshops, course reserves and research guides, amongst other services, we also offer a variety of technologies to help make teaching and presentations go smoothly. In partnership with University Information Technology, we recently acquired 20 presentation devices that both faculty and students can borrow.
Instead of being tied to the classroom podium, you can now borrow one of our devices and untether yourself from the presentation computer! Find new and unique ways to make teaching and presentations more engaging and collaborative by moving away from the front of the classroom. For example, the handy laser feature can be used to point out important concepts or ideas on your slide deck.
While the instructions included with the device state that it only works with Windows operating systems, it is also compatible with Mac laptops. Just plug the USB connector into your presentation computer’s USB port and you can start using the device right away. The device will work with PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides. So come by today and check out one of these devices from the Bronfman circulation desk for a 3-day loan period. You can also borrow them from the Scott Library and the Steacie Science and Engineering Library.
If you have any suggestions for other types of borrowable tech we should get, don't hesitate to contact us. We always love to hear suggestions from York faculty and students!
