Happy 2017 to students, faculty, and staff at York University! The Bronfman Library is welcoming in the new year with a pop-up book display highlighting books and articles published by Schulich faculty members in 2015/2016. We've timed this display so that it coincides with the Schulich School of Business' Research Day on January 26. Our display can be found by the Bloomberg terminals in the library and showcases various print books and eBooks in our collection such as:
- Re-imagining Capitalism edited by Dominic Barton, Dezsö Horváth, and Matthias Kipping
- This collection of essays discusses how capitalism can and should be reformed to make it more equitable and focused on responsible and sustainable growth. It includes a wide variety of perspectives from thought leaders in academia, business, and NGOs.
- King William's Tontine: Why the Retirement Annuity of the Future should Resemble its Past by Moshe Milevsky
- This book explains the historical context of tontines, which were first established in 1693, and discusses how they could be used today as a 21st century retirement income planning method.
- Sustainable Entrepreneurship in China: Ethics, Corporate Governance, and Institutional Reforms edited by Douglas Cumming, Michael Firth, Wenxuan Hou, and Edward Lee
- This edited book contains a wide array of interesting chapters on topics such as corporate governance, fraud, accounting practices of private companies in China and much more.
The display also includes handouts with a bit.ly link that will take you to the complete list of articles and books published by Schulich faculty members in 2016. If you're interested in learning more about the cutting edge research being done by Schulich faculty, you can also take a copy of the 2016 Spotlight on Research booklets we've added to the display. The Schulich website also includes a great deal of information on faculty research.
We hope that this display will not only inform you of the great research being done by Schulich faculty, but will also inspire you to contribute to scholarly conversations at Schulich about topics such as sustainability, ethics, and the pursuit of creative solutions in business.
