The Bronfman Library is proud to announce that our very own circulation supervisor, David Clink, has published a chapbook of speculative poetry! Speculative poetry covers a variety of subject areas such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, steampunk, and magic realism. David is an accomplished poet, as this is his 6th poetry chapbook. His publisher, Piquant Press, will be holding a book launch on Thursday, November 20, 2014. If the World Were to Stop Spinning contains only previously published work, with one exception, and the chapbook contains the following award winning poems:
- A sea monster tells his story (Winner of the 2013 Aurora Award for Best Poem/Song)
- A city of buried rivers (Placed second for the 2014 Aurora Award for Best Poem/Song)
- A conversation between a time traveler and his apprentice (Placed third in the 2014 Dwarf Stars competition)
Also included in this anthology is a previously unpublished poem by David, titled "The Perfect Library". David has graciously shared the complete copy of this lovely poem with the Bronfman Library staff and has given us permission to share it with you on the BBL Blog!
