York University Libraries (YUL) Advancing SDG 3

Good Health and Well-Being

3: Good health and well-being

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

Over the last 15 years, the number of childhood deaths has been cut in half.  This proves that it is possible to win the fight against almost every disease. Still, we are spending an astonishing amount of money and resources on treating illnesses that are surprisingly easy to prevent. Goal 3 promotes healthy lifestyles, preventive measures and modern, efficient healthcare for everyone.

York is committed to disseminating the research performed at the University in ways that make it widely accessible, while protecting the intellectual property rights of its authors. Opening boundaries to access research could not be more relevant today. The urgency of the COVID-19 pandemic demanded that we get this new resource up and running swiftly.

The  COVID-19 research guide provides a range of open access and other materials, such as peer-reviewed research by York faculty members on mathematical modeling, emergency planning best practices, and the social and psychological ramifications of the virus. The guide also enables researchers, collaborators, and partners worldwide with a central place to freely access essential information. Read more here.
