Despite the rain-soaked skies, the York University Libraries team made a splash at this year’s YorkFest! Set against the backdrop of bustling activity in Harry Arthurs Commons, our dedicated staff transformed the Library's presence into an engaging hub of intrigue and innovation.
Throughout the day, YUL showcased an array of resources the Library has to offer, igniting curiosity about the Making and Media Creation Lab and the tools it has available for the York community. With comprehensive displays of Lab equipment, attendees discovered the endless possibilities they have available to them within our vibrant space. Whether it was learning about 3D printing, video production, or podcasting, students were eager to explore and get involved.
Despite the uncooperative weather, the enthusiasm of the YUL team never waned. Their commitment to fostering a welcoming environment and sharing knowledge resonated with the many students who stopped by our table. The rain didn’t dampen spirits; instead, it created a unique camaraderie among participants, reinforcing the sense of community that YorkFest embodies.
A heartfelt thank you to Tanya Prince for her planning advice and to Aleena Aleem, Chloe Nguyen, Daksh Singh, Simranjitsingh Bal, Prabhjee Singh, Timi Akinbaleye, Tim Tan Huynh, Genny Jon, and Kris Joseph who braved the elements to connect with us.
Here’s to another successful YorkFest, and here’s to the bright future of collaboration, creativity, and community within York University Libraries!
