Library Makerspace Equipment Bookings

How bookings work:

  1. Use the Book buttons to book machines and workstations. Some may require you to complete a tutorial before beginning your booking
  2. Wait for email that approves or declines the booking (one business day).
  3. (If approved) Bring your YU-card to the Markham Library Makerspace, room 3055.
  4. Meet staff who will double check your files and guide you to the appropriate machine/station.
  5. If 3D printing, staff will quote you a price based on the file you bring. You only need to pay after your print is completed. Upon payment, you may take your object with you.
  6. Consult our RULES.
  7. Create with curiosity and responsibility!

The makerspace is currently in the process of piloting its workflows and processes. We will be working to expand and improve our offerings as our pilot progresses. Your feedback is important to us, please contact mmcl@yorku.ca with comments or questions.

The Library Makerspace is accessible to users regardless of faculty.

Safety Note: Do not touch the 3D printer while in operation (minus the screen and dial). The parts can get extremely hot and moving parts can cause injury. Further safety info can be found in the guide.

3D Printing is charged based on the amount of material used for the print job. When you arrive for a booking, a quote will be generated by a staff member before you begin. You can receive your completed print after viewing it and paying the quoted price.
